DETROIT - Players competing in the 2024 NCAA Men's Midwest Regional March Madness Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games will play on a new court made in Michigan at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Governor Gretchen Whitmer revealed the new court on Monday as part of Michigan's initiative to foster economic growth and highlight the state's culture.

ConnorŪ Sports in Amasa, MI, UP, is a globally recognized manufacturer of premium hardwood sports flooring. They played a pivotal role in creating the new court, ensuring its quality and durability. They are the official court provider for several high-profile sporting events such as the Men's and Women's NCAA March MadnessŪ and NCAA Final FourŪ, the Summer Olympic Games, 15 NBA teams, and 5 WNBA teams, with more clients being added regularly. With such a track record, ConnorŪ Sports is undoubtedly the most trusted name in the industry.

Whitmer stated, "It's another opportunity to tell our story. This is a great sports town, a great sports state; so much good stuff is happening...it's the most powerful way that we can tell people what's happening here in Michigan and in Detroit, in particular."

The governor is proud of the work put into building the hosting court, although no Michigan teams will be playing in the games. Whitmer said, "130 employees that started working on the floors maybe nine to 10 months ago, so, seeing all the hard work that they did at a small town in Michigan in the Upper Peninsula to here is just incredible."

The new court will feature Gonzaga facing off against Purdue on Friday, followed by Tennessee vs. Creighton.
